A Show You Should See: The Faim

With the recent drop of their debut album State of Mind on September 13th, the Australian rock band The Faim has decided to hit the road in the U.S. They’re making their way through the states with a killer co-headliner with their fellow Aussie’s in Stand Atlantic and support acts WSTR, Hold Close (09/17-10/02), and Point North (10/04-10/19). This is tour you’re not going to want to miss out on! Keep on reading to find out all the fun that occurred at the Tampa show!

Josh Raven, Lead Vocalist

With the crowd warmed up and ready to go, thanks to openers Hold Close and WSTR. The crew started tearing down and setting up for the next band, and after they were finished the lights dimmed, the crowd roared and The Faim hit the stage. The four-piece made their way to the small intimate stage that makes shows at the Crowbar in Tampa so special. They opened with one of their earlier singles Saints of the Sinners, and had the whole crowd singing and dancing along, myself included.

When the song came to an end lead singer Josh Raven, who looked cozy in pajama pants and a sleeveless jumper, welcomed and thanked the crowd for coming out to the show. As he spoke, he mentioned that he wasn’t feeling to well, but there was no way that he was going to let him stop him from showing Tampa what The Faim had in store for them or cancel their set. And they did show Tampa what they were made of.

Song after song and note after note The Faim kept the crowd roaring and their fans in awe at the talent the band radiates. Josh, despite being sick, didn’t let him from hitting every note perfectly, and the rest of the band worked in perfect ease with him. A few times throughout the show, Josh jumped into the crowd and ran about. Singing to fans and belting the lyrics with ease. There was another moment when he hopped up onto the bar and sang while the crowd had their lights out, lighting him up in the dark room. It was a beautiful sight to see.

Overall, for seeing The Faim for the first time I was very pleased and impressed. This band radiates talent, and their live performances are true to the records they release. This band works extremely well together and have mastered the art of putting on a damn good show in their rise. Throughout the entire show I found myself singing and dancing along, even to the songs I didn’t know very well. From fast and upbeat to slow and mystical, The Faim cover every aspect of a good rock show that you surely don’t want to miss out on. I can surely tell you I’m already waiting for these boys to come back to Florida.
